The Philippine Basketball Association announced Friday that games in the 2020 Philippine Cup restart will be postponed starting October 30, 2020.
The move came after the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) recommended the suspension of the conference until the latest protocols have been laid out.
Here’s the full statement of the league:
“In compliance with the recommendation of the IATF-EID Technical Working Group and the DOH Advisory Group of Experts and to ensure the integrity and safety of the PBA Bubble, the league is postponing the games starting TODAY, October 30 until the new protocols proposed by the IATF and DOH are out in place.”
“The PBA would like to thank the IATF, DOH and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for their continuous support and guidance.”
The Magnolia Hotshots and NorthPort Batang Pier were scheduled to tip-off at 4:00 pm today with Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel and defending champion San Miguel Beermen clashing in the main event at 6:45 pm.
Team practices have likewise been suspended but delegates could still access Quest hotel’s amenities.
