Top seed TNT Tropang Giga and former Philippine Cup five-peat champ San Miguel Beer end their showdown in one final tiff Sunday, with the loser kissing its dream goodbye and the winner marching forward and taking a shot at the crown versus the Magnolia Hotshots.

Like any other do-or-die, it could well be a duel of will, desire and determination as the Tropang Giga and the Beermen clash in their 4:35 p.m. knockout setto at the Don Honorio Ventura State U Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

It’s been a back-and-forth all-Filipino semifinal series with TNT taking Games 1, 3 and 5 and San Miguel gunning down the equalizers in Games 2, 4 and 6.

Whatever the Tropang Giga threw at the Beermen, June Mar Fajardo and his teammates threw back at Jayson Castro and the rest of the TNT crew.

The two teams split cliffhangers in the first two games then took turns pulling off dominant triumphs in the next four matches.

With these results, one could say it’s anybody’s series and Game Seven is anybody’s game.

Statistically, the Beermen have the edge with their 4-of-4 record in Game 7s under coach Leo Austria.

Their experience came in handy in surviving their first do-or-die match Friday via a 103-90 romp.

“Our experience came in handy. In these kinds of situations, we know what to do. We know this was a do-or-die for us and fortunately, we had a good start and sustained our energy,” said Austria.
