Terrence Romeo returns to practice, may suit up against Magnolia in season-opener

Terrence Romeo attended San Miguel’s practice a week after the flamboyant guard sustained an ankle injury during a tune-up game against Alaska in a preseason tournament organized by Phoenix.

The 27-year old native of Imus Cavite claims that the swelling has already subsided and that playing in the team’s season-opener against Magnolia is now a big possibility.

“Okay naman. Medyo hindi na namamaga. Hopefully, 100 percent na sa first game,” said Romeo on Thursday during the PBA Media Day at the Okada Manila.

“Medyo nakakapractice na ako pero masakit pa ng konti. Gusto ko sana maging 100 percent,” he added.

This comes as a welcome development for the defending Philippine Cup champions who are still reeling from the injuries suffered by main man June Mar Fajardo and sharpshooter Marcio Lassiter.

Fajardo has already been ruled out of the All-Filipino conference and possibly for the entire season while Lassiter is still recovering from a fractured nose.

The Beermen, who are gunning for their 6th consecutive Philippine Cup title, will kick off their title-retention drive against the Hotshots in the lone game after the Season 45 opening ceremony on Sunday, March 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
